The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
Thanks to a friend of Cars UK with a healthy appetite for hypercars (and the bank balance to indulge his lust) we were able to break the news to the world that Bugatti were building the ultimate, 1200 hp Veyron – The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport - back in June. Bugatti confirmed our story in July with news that the Veyron Super Sport had taken the world speed record for a production car with an average speed run of 267.81 mph. When Bugatti announced the Super Sport and the new World Record, we also got pictures of the world record Veyron which will form the basis for an Orange and Carbon World Record Edition of five cars.
The last episode of Top Gear Series 19 – episode 7 – airs tonight as the second part of the ‘Christmas Special’ to find the source of the Nile in Africa. According to Jeremy Clarkson, the reason we had no Top Gear last autumn, and the reason we’re seeing the Top Gear Christmas Special to find the source of the Nile in Africa in £1500 estates now, is that the BBC schedules were too crammed with stuff like the summer of sport, Strictly Come Dancing and I’m a Z-list Celebrity. But if the viewing figures for part 1 of the Top Gear special to find the source of the Nile are anything to go by, the Beeb would have been better airing Top Gear than the Autumn fodder of ‘reality’ shows last year, as Top Gear stuffed the current reality show – Dancing on Ice – in last Sunday’s ratings.
Aston Martin have embarked on a tour of its UK dealers with the new Vanquish to show its latest supercar to both dealers and customers. The new Aston Martin Vanquish – successor to the DBS and first shown at Villa D’Este earlier this years as the AM 310 – was revealed back in June. But with a public debut at the Paris Motor Show in just a few week’s time, Aston Martin has been ramping up the PR for the new Vanquish with new photos and new video in the last week, and now they’re off to show the Vanquish to dealers and the Aston Martin faithful alike.
